The Problem
Great cars lose money when their story is missing
History reports don’t know your car
The big history databases are built from shop- and insurer-reported data. The work you do in your own garage — the engine-out service, the suspension rebuild, the careful detailing — never appears. On a collector car, that invisible work is often the most valuable work of all.
Records live in shoeboxes
Receipts in a glovebox. Photos on three old phones. The build sheet in an email from 2016. When a buyer asks “what’s been done to it?”, most sellers answer from memory — and buyers price that uncertainty into their offer.
The sale-week scramble
Auction-prep services estimate a competitive listing needs 100–200 photos plus measurements and records — and sellers commonly spend 10–20+ hours assembling it all under deadline. Documentation built over years beats documentation rebuilt in a weekend.

How It Works
Three steps, starting the day you buy the car
Document
Log every service, repair, part and mile with the pack’s templates — build sheet, service & DIY log, receipts log, ownership history. Ten minutes per job, while it’s fresh.
Organize
Run the provenance self-audit and photo shot list so the file is complete: the right photos, the right documents, the gaps found and filled before a buyer finds them.
Export
When it’s time to sell — or insure — assemble the sale-ready packet in one pass: records, photos, valuation worksheet and listing copy, ready for any auction or marketplace.
Owner Complaints, Answered
Built to fix what owners complain about
Every other way of keeping a car’s records draws the same complaints. We read them — and built the pack to answer them, including the parts where the honest answer is a limit, stated plainly.
“No history.” Lower price.
Missing service history is the complaint that costs the most. The Vehicle Remarketing Association calls absent history the top unnecessary value-reducer when a vehicle sells — easily 5% or more of its value — and around a quarter of auction vehicles are presented with no history at all. The pack builds the antidote in advance: a dated service & DIY history log, a receipts and parts provenance index, and a one-page summary sheet that puts the strongest record on top.
The official report can’t see your DIY work
Log an oil change in a history app and it appears on your personal dashboard — and nowhere else. Self-reported entries never reach the official report a buyer pulls, so careful DIY and independent-shop work reads as “no service records.” The vault makes that work legible directly to the buyer instead: parts fitted, receipts, dates, mileages and photos of the work, organized as evidence in the file you hand over.
The honest part: this doesn’t put entries on a CARFAX report — it puts the evidence in the buyer’s hands.
Records everywhere. Courage nowhere.
A shoebox of receipts. Photos on three old phones. The build sheet in an email account from 2016, and a spreadsheet somebody started in 2019 and abandoned. The pack replaces the scatter with one folder system, one master workbook, and a first-hour setup path that gets the whole file standing in a single sitting.
The honest part: backfilling years of history is real work. The system makes it structured work — once — instead of a scramble at sale time.
“The app ate my records.”
Owners report maintenance apps losing vehicles and years of history after updates, forced logouts and account problems — records held on someone else’s server, gone on someone else’s schedule. The pack’s files live on your own computer or drive. There is no account to lapse, no server to shut down, and no update that can delete them.
The honest part: your custody means your backup — the pack’s Start Here guide includes a simple backup routine, and following it is part of the deal.
Everything good sits behind a subscription
Record-keeping apps commonly gate the useful parts — extra cars, exports, backups — behind paid tiers that renew for as long as you own the car. The Vault Pack is one price, paid once. The files are yours for the life of the edition, and exactly what each tier includes is listed in full on the Pricing page — nothing held back to upsell you later.
Insurers want proof, not stories
Agreed-value cover is documented, not argued: the evidence insurers ask for is photos, a build sheet, invoices, receipts and comparable sales. The insurance / agreed-value documentation packet (Premium and Concours) assembles exactly that set from the record file you already keep — ready before the renewal, not reconstructed after a claim.
The honest part: it supports your value — it isn’t an appraisal and can’t promise an insurer’s decision.

Why It Matters
The market rewards documented cars
in collector-car sales on Bring a Trailer alone in 2025
listings ran on Bring a Trailer in 2025 — each one competing on presentation and records
sell-through rate — the cars that sell are the cars buyers can verify
Hagerty’s valuation guidance makes the same point from the insurer’s side: well-maintained, honestly documented cars — with service records, build sheets and manuals disclosed — justify stronger prices. Documentation isn’t paperwork. It’s part of the car’s value.
